Dr M Rajaram is an officer in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) with a postgraduate degree in English literature, a BL, an MEd and a PhD (HRD). As a writer, he is well-known for his English translation of Thirukkural, which was highly appreciated by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India. His earlier books, including Towards Quality in Educational Administration and The Elemental Warriors, have received wide acclaim. His research papers have received attention at the national level. He is also the recipient of several awards including the Malcolm Adiseshaiah Award and the Best Collector Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu.
