Tibet has currently under the Chinese occupation and the world acknowledge the occupation of Tibet by China correct. Tibetans are fighting for their independence. They are not only fighting for their independence but also for survival of their language, religion, customs, culture and ethos. They are under attack by Chinese from every quarter. As a race Tibetans differ from Chinese, they have their own language, history, cultural ethos entirely different from Chinese. This three volume set discusses in detail, the history, culture and society in volume one; Tibeta’s Freedom struggle is the subject matter of volume two; and the third volume covers the topic of Human Rights violations in Tibet. Volume first is historical in nature. It discusses the history of Tibet right from ancient times to the escape at His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama. Tibet is peculiar in the aspect that its religious head is also the political head of the country. The Lamas hierarchy not only enjoys the spiritual powers over the general public, but also the political and administrative powers. But this setup changed after the occupation of Tibet by China. Currently Tibetans and their lamas have no say in administration and the Chinese Army rules, Tibet, with iron hands. Another Important aspect of this volume is the discussion of Tibetan culture and Society in it. Volume Two: Tibet and Its Freedom struggle covers the struggle of Tibetans since the 1950s. Nearly two hundred and sixty pages of this volume is entirely devoted to the freedom struggle waged by Tibetans. There have been open rebellions and also covertguerrilla type war against Chinese. Chinese have put down the rebellions ruthlessly and thousands of Tibetans have lost their lives and limbs. Volume Three covers the Human Rights violation in Tibet. This volume is an eye opener of the world about the benevolent rule of China over Tibet. Various documents and evidence have been collected to unmask the truth of Human Rights violation by China in Tibet. It is hoped that these volumes will create greater awareness about Tibet in the world and raise the consciousness of world about Tibet’s freedom struggle and the consequent human rights violation in Tibet.
