History plays an important role in the life of an individual. In school, history is taught as a compulsory subject in most countries. If you do not know anything about the past, you know nothing about your own history, and you lose your identity, customs and even heritage history gives you courage, inspiration and nationalism. There is a reason of compiling the most interesting historical events of the world history for the past 1000 years. What happened in the past is recorded in the history books by well known historians. But we have deliberately chosen the way of compiling the events from the various books, magazines, news papers in a very concise form, date and year wise with the intention of providing a practical and attractive source of quick reference for the non specialist reader. Extensive coverage of date related important national and international events are also included for the first time. History is more than a simple compilation of facts from the past, recorded in different ways by different sources. The method of recording by prominent individuals and setting it up to the reader’s interest is extremely important. In this book readers can find the most interesting major events in a very simple language containing a one or two line description. I have tried my best to reflect the most important and essential date related events in such a way as to exclude some events lacking historical significance.
