ABOUT THE AUTHOR Kashi Wali

Dr. Kashi Wali is a visiting Professor at the Cornell and Syracuse Universities. She has been working on Kashmiri for last two decades and has published extensively in the fields of linguistics and South Asian languages. Her publications include Marathi Syntax: A Study of Reflexives (1989), Kashmiri: A Descriptive-Cognitive Grammar (co-author 1997), Lexical Anaphora and pronouns in Selected South Asian Languages (co-editor 2000) and a large number of papers.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Omkar N. Koul

Dr. Omkar N. Koul is Chairman of the Indian Institute of Language Studies. He has held the positions of Director, and Professor-cum-Deputy Director of the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore, Professor of LBS National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, and Principal of Northern Regional Language center, Patiala. His publications related to Kashmiri language and linguistics include Linguistics Studies in Kashmiri (1977), Kashmiri: A Socio linguistics Survey (co-author), 1983), An intensive Course in Kashmsiri (1985), Spoken Kashmiri: A Language Course (1987), An Intermediate Course in Kashmiri (1995), Kashmiri: A Descriptive-Cognitive Grammar (co-author, 1997), Kashmiri Language Linguistics and Culture: An Annotated Bibliography (2000) and a large number of papers.
