Tourism: Principles and Practices

Sampad Kumar Swain has been associated with a wide spectrum of tourism related activities for the last eleven years, in various capacities, both in the industry and in the academics. He is a Graduate in Economics and Post Graduate in Tourism Administration, with a gold medal. He is the first person to receive Ph.D. award in the area of Tourism Administration under Utkal University, Orissa, in 2003. Now, he is pursuing his D.Litt. programme in the area of Tourism under the same University. He has published a good number of innovative research papers in the key and thrust areas of tourism. He has also attended national and international seminars and also underwent many value added training and orientation programs in the core areas of tourism. He is associated with Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management and Regional College of Management, Bhubaneswar, as a resource person. Currently, he is serving as a regular Lecturer in the Centre for Tourism Studies in Pondicherry University, Pondicherry. Recently a book Advancements in Tourism Theory and Practice edited by him has been published, which has been well received.
