Transport geography is a sub-discipline of geography concerned about movements of freight, people and information along with their physical and transactional context. It tries to link spatial constraints and attributes with the origin, the destination, the extent, the nature and the purpose of movements. As a discipline, transport geography emerged from economic geography in the second half of the twentieth century. Since the 1990s, it has received renewed attention, especially because the issues of mobility, production and distribution are interrelated in a complex geographical setting. The book provides comprehensive and authentic information of the fundamental aspects of transport geography. It will be a highly informative reference tool for educators, researchers, students, and individual learners.
