ABOUT THE AUTHOR Narayana Misra

Dr. N. Mishra is currently Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Head of Anthropology Department Cum-Director, U.G.C. Centre of Advanced Study, Ranchi University, Ranchi. He has been engaged in teaching and research in Social Anthropology in variuos capacities for more than three decades. His work "Cultural Persistence and Change" for which he was awarded Ph.D. degree by the University of Ranchi earned for him admiration at home and abroad. His another major work is "Harijan To-Day" jointly with late Professor Vidyarthi. It is a pioneering research work among the Harijans of Bihar. Prof. Mishra is a life member of several scientific, academic and social institutions in India and abroad.
