ABOUT THE AUTHOR K Viswanadha Reddy

Dr. K. Viswanadha Reddy (b. 1949) holds M.A. degree in Social Anthropology from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati and Ph.d. in Anthropology from Karnataka University, Dharwad. He has also studied M.A. in Sociology, P.G. Diplomas in Linguistics and Higher Education, and did Ph.D. degree in Folklore. He was also UGC Visiting Associate to the Department of Ecology, Pondicherry Central University, Pondicherry during 1994-96. Dr. Reddy has published about 30 research papers in academic journals, and participated in more than 50 National Seminars / Conferences / Symposiums / Workshops. He also served as a resource person, Chairman, Rapporteur etc., to various sessions. He has also participated in two UGC Refresher Courses in anthropology and Computer Applications in Social Sciences. He has successfully organized a dozen Field-work Programmes of one month duration in Tribal and Rural areas for the post-graduate students in Social Anthropology. He has successfully completed two Major Research projects funded by ICCSR and UGC, besides four minor research projects.
