This book presents the refreshing panorama of tribal communities of Andhra Pradesh. Tracing their geo-ethnic profile, it discusses at length the genesis of metamorphosis in tribal habitats, the problem of their ethnic identity, demographic trends, the importance of forests in their life, and their housing patterns.

Taking a close look at the dynamics of social mobility among different tribal communities, it describes in detail their cultural heritage, family and marriage patterns, their ceremonial friendship, art and crafts, folk dances, and fairs and festivals. A discussion on traditional tribal Panchayats as a mechanism for development of tribal communities also finds place in the book.
