The expansion of the mills in Sangli area is hierarchical. It limits to the sons, saughters and grand children of the original mill owners. No new entrants are seen in the milling activities. The industry was protected during the primary state, today; also the industry requires state support. In fact, there is an opportunity to develop Turmeric Park with commodity special. Export Oriented Zone at Sangli.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Yojana Vasant Jugale

Dr. (Mrs.) Y.V. Jugale, is Selection Grade Lecturer in Economics teaching at UG and PC levels in Willingdon College, Sangli. She is in the teaching and research field since last two decades. She has been co-authored by various publications like; The Sate of Indian Economy, (Five Vols.). Decontrol and Delicensing of Sugan Industry. The State of Co-operative Movement in Maharashtra. Water Management in Krishna River Basin. She has a credit of publishing 20 papers in national and international seminars and conferences. She worked on the UGC Research Project on the “Processing and Marketing of Turmeric”.
