ABOUT THE AUTHOR Navtej Singh

Navtej Singh holds M.A., Ph.D. from Punjab University, Chandigarh. He worked on the projects ‘Land Reforms in India’ and ‘Border Area Problems’ in different institutions in Chandigarh. He has written about two hundred articles including book reviews, research papers and popular essays. His books include ‘Starvation and Colonialism: A Study of Famines in the Nineteenth Century British Punjab, 1858-1901; ‘challenge to Imperial Hegemany: The Life Story of a Great Indian Patriot Udham Singh’, and ‘Punjab Yaadan De Jharokhe Chon’ (Co-ed.). At present he is Reader in the Department of Punjab Historical Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala.
