The book is divided into two sections: "Chemical Process Technology and Creativity" and "Equipment Design & Creativity". Section I deals with some important conventional process technologies and new concepts which lead to the upgradation of the older technologies. The objective is to assist the readers develop an understanding of the new ideas which have the potential for further development of traditional technologies.

Section II contains both new design features and totally new design concepts of some of the existing process equipment which can effectively reduce the size of equipment and in some cases improve the efficiency as well. For some equipment mathematical equations have been given to determine the size of equipment while in other cases new design features have been presented at a conceptual level. The objective here is to assist the readers adopt new ideas in design of some of the important process equipment used in chemical industries.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Amalesh Sirkar

Amalesh Sirkar is Professor of Chemical Engineering Department at Haldia Institute of Technology, Haldia, West Bengal. His research focuses on Interfacial Phenomena in Liquid-Liquid Systems, Reaction Kinetics & Reactor Design and Biochemical Engineering. He has 20 research papers and 20 Patents (Foreign & Indian). He has been consultant to many industries and has both academic and industrial work experience in India & USA. He received letter of appreciation from Hydrocarbon Research Inc., N.J., USA for a patent and Certificate of Merit from the Institution of Engineers (India) for a paper.
