This study is a piece of research based on first hand data collected from 750 women belonging to the three states. It provides its readers a window to peep into the pathetic life of women landless labourers. The amount of misery and hard work which they face is definitely a challenge for planners and policy-makers. They are not only resourceless but powerless also, consequently they remain voiceless. They have capacity to assess every situation but poverty and deprivation retard their efforts. ‘What is their present and what future has stored for them?’ These are two big questions which have been discussed in this boon in detail. It takes stock constitutional provisions and their impact also. Out of nine chapters three introductory chapters are based on benchmark data and secondary sources whereas chapter four deals with the methodological considerations, adopted in this study. Last four chapters are based on first hand data and its analysis. It is a balanced combination of library scanning and fieldwork. Much work has not been done in this field particularly with reference to landless women labour point of view. Therefore, it is an innovative work. It will be a worth referring reading material for students, NGO workers and researchers.
