The W T O began life on 1 January 1995, but its trading system 1948, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GTT) had provided the rules for the system. The Second ministerial meeting, held in Geneva in May 1998 , included a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the system. The book is covering details of various meetings held in Cancun for regulating new trade policies. In the following pages the above problems have been discussed very briefly. The discussion has been divided into 12 chapters. Any Chapter can be read independently. However, it is advisable to go through all chapters chronologically as the matter in all chapters is interrelated.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR N.S. Bansal

N.S. Bansal (b.1957) obtained his master of Economics from B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra. For the past 12 years he has been in the teaching profession. He has also contributed various articles on Globalizat5ion. International Monetary found and W T O for leading journals and magazines. He has also authored two books on Economics.
