In the winter of 1998/99, Wetterstein hut custodian and successful author Charly Wehrle visited his friend and colleague of many years, Sherpa Gyaltsen, to celebrate Gyaltsen's sixtieth birthday in Nepal. Their ten-day Musical trek ended with an exhilarating birthday party at Namche Bazar, a Mountain village at the foot of Mount Everest. All day and all evening long, the eight-strong group played with dulcimer, Double bass, accordion and guitars; it was an intercultural experience of a very special kind for both the musicians and the Nepalese listeners alike.
Accompanying the book is a CD with the original soundtrack, which is a 35-minute mix of Bavarian Music and Nepalese Folk songs. All those who have enjoyed Charly's morning wake-up call at the Reintalanger Hut can now also begin their day at home with the same uplifting music of 'Summer Roses'.
