Women and Work in Globalising Asia

Female workforce, their socio-legal status and problems they face at work are much debated issued. Despite being equipped with talent, skill and competency women meet various discriminations at work place. In developed countries, like USA, Mexico and Europe women are working hard on per with men. We can say that the three roles of women, viz., wife, mother and employee, a women occupying roles of wife and employee, because of the greater incompatibility between the roles. For women, the gratifications associated with the family roles, particularly the role of wife, and mother have been emphasized over the costs. The concept of role overload and role conflict are primarily used to analyse the complications that employment caused for married women especially mothers.
