The book entitled "Women in early medieval north India" throws light on the overall position of women in early medieval northern Indian society. In this period feudalism was on its zenith, and the frequent attack of the foreigners made the condition of the women worst. So in this scenario every aspect related to the condition of the women viz. Political participation, as daughter, wife, mother, widow, education, marriage, divorce, purda-system, sati, purification, devdasi, dasi, right of property, crime and punishment are discussed in detail.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Raj Pal
At present Dr. Rajpal is working as lecturer in the department of ancient Indian history, culture and archeology at Kurukshetra university, Kurukshetra, born on 1st September 1972 in the village Julani district Jind (Haryana). He did his master degree in ancient Indian history, culture and archeology with first class from the Kuruksehtra University, Kurukshetra. After that he passed the examination of N.E.T. (Twice-1995, 1996) and S.L.E.T. conducted by the U.G.C. He completed his Ph.D. degree from the same university in 1999. He has also passed the examination of Haryana Civil Services (Ex. & allied services) in 2004.
