Women in Police Profession: An Emperical Case of Delhi Police

The book is third of it’s kind in India and first on policewomen in Delhi Police, from the sociological perspective. It not only gives us a picture of status of policewomen in the family, organization and society but their role, role-conflicts while playing the multiple roles and role articulation in conflicting role situations also. Their entry into police profession, traditionally considered as male profession, is an achievement in itself but they still occupy nearly 3% of the total strength of Delhi Police and face inequality and discrimination in certain areas of policing. The book offers some suggestions also.
