The Vakyapadiya of Bhartrhari which represents an important landmark in the history of Indian Philosophy has always posed a challenge for scholars mainly because of its terse language. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Saroja Bhate

Dr. Mrs. Saroja Bhate is at present Professor of Sanskrit and Prakrit Languages, University of Poona, Pune. An author of 10 books and nearly 40 articles Prof. Bhate is specialized in Paninian studies. She was a visiting Professor in Oxford University, England and University of Lavsanne, Switzerland. She was also invited to deliver lectures in the Humboldt University Berlin, Heidelberg University, University of Paris, University of Pisa and the University of Rome. Dr. Yashodhara Kar who is at present a Research associate in the centre of Advanced Study in Sanskrit, University of Poona, Pune, is also specialized in Paninian studies. She has undergone training in Natural language processing in computer and is at present mainly working in this area.
