Occupational Inclinations of Tribal Women in Meghalaya

Dr. Y. Satya undertakes a research into feminine occupational perspectives and orientations in the society of Meghalaya where women have generic values that impact on decisions and responsibilities. It probes the complex interplay of socio-economic, cultural and psychological specificities of the major tribal communities, that is, the Khasis, the Jaintias and the Garos of Meghalaya. The empirical study views the complexities involved in matriliny and unravels the contemporary issues influencing the status of progressive modernities, occupational decision-making and employable adaptabilities.
