It is a book of 15 chapters on the psychology of teaching and learning. T he first chapters highlights its importance for teacher trainees and teachers at work in schools. ABOUT THE AUTHOR S.P. Anand

Dr. Satya Paul Anand was born on September 10, 1941. He did his B.Ss (1961), B.Ed (1962) from Pubjab University. While working as TGT Science (1962-68), he had his M.A in Economics (1965) from Aligarh Muslim University. He was PGT for eight years and qualified for the degrees of M.Ed (1967), Ph.D. (1972) and M.A. (1974) in Psychology from the University of Delhi. In NCERT (1983), he had six months training for the integrated education of disabled children. Dr. Anand was selected as Lecturer in Education by the NCERT in 1976 and was posted as Regional College of Education, Bhubaneswar. In 1984 and 2001 he was selected as Reader in Education and Professor in Education. He continued his professional career at RIE Bhubneswar till his retirement in Sept 2003 as Professor and Head Department of Education. He has the experience of teaching school students for 14 years. He taught Guidance and Educational Psychology to the B.Ed. and M.Ed students for 27 years. He coordinated Diploma in guidance and Counseling course and taught the trainees for more than 3 years. In addition to it, Teacher Education and Evaluation had been his areas of Specialization. Form NCERT, in an All India competition, Dr. Anand bagged National Award in 1986 for his outstanding research paper, In the Quest of Quality in Education. Under his guidance five students have been awarded Ph.D in Education at Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. Dr. Anand, on deputation, was Regional Director, in the office of NCTE at Bhubaneswar, in 1998-99. He has published 27 research Paprs and 29 Articles in the reputed journals of Education and Psychology.
