A large number of students appear in UPSC-IFS (Agriculture) examination every year and Agriculture is one of the subject. Agriculture graduates always find difficulty in preparation of this examination due to lack of good books. Keeping the aforesaid points in view, I have made an attempt to write a book, which is designed as per latest syllabus of UPSC-IFS (Agriculture), since all facets of Agriculture are covered in this book which is spread over in 22 chapters viz. Though the book is based on the syllabus of UPSC-IFS (Agriculture), it may be useful not only to IFS aspirants but also to all those who are preparing for PCS, ICAR exams, Bank Services and other such examinations.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR B.B. Singh
Dr. B.B. Singh, Professor and Head, Department of Agricultural Communication of G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar (Uttaranchal), the editor of this manuscript has long professional experience of more than 30 years in the field of agricultural communication and extension. He is specialized in different positions of challenges and responsibilities. Presently he is also working as Joint Director, Communication in the university. He is also the Chief Editor of two monthly farm magazines of national repute i.e. Kisan Bharti in Hindi and Indian Farmers Digest in English being published from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. He has been the organizer of various training programmes and seminars. As teachers he has taught more than 15 courses to undergraduate, post graduate and Ph.D. Classes. So far, 9 Ph.D. and 11 M.Sc. Students have completed their degrees under his wise and intelligent supervision. As a researcher, he has handled 2 outside funded research projects under different capacity. He has been trained in USA and Philippines. Dr. Singh is associated with several professional bodies and societies. So far, he has more than 50 publications to his credit.
