This book tries to analyse the patterns of urbanization that are evolving in Uttar Pradesh. Discussing the environmental setting in the state, it examines demographic, economic, social and living environmental aspects of urbanization. The results are synthesized on two levels: Firstly, the use of bi-variate correlation matrix to address the spatial process; and secondly, multi-variate technique of Principal Component Analysis to identify dimensions in spatial perspective. The book will be useful for researchers, policy-makers and development planners.
