Personal records have always been necessary for good personnel administration. As business continue to grow and the administration of personnel becomes more sophisticated and professional. The volume of paper records increases in proportation, with the new technologies creating new and vastly different records. The focus of attention is on non-statutory record system. The nature of the research is defined as conclusive as research findings are expected to result in specific decisions being made or specific actions being taken. The research is intended to provide information for planning activity. The case method of study has been adopted as research methodology to understand the business situation. The method involves intensive study of a relatively small number of situations. The emphasis is on obtaining a complete description and understanding of the relationships of factors in each instance, regardless of the numbers involved. This method is applicable to both secondary and descriptive studies. This method is of particular value when one is seeking help on a problem in which the relationships of a number of factors are involved, and in which it is difficult to understand the individual factors without considering their relationships.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Ashok Kumar Gupta

Ashok K. Gupta (Born 1962) after completing his Post Graduation in Public Administration (1989) & Political Science (1986), both in First Division and M. Phil. In Political Science (1986) from Punjabi University, Patiala (Punjab) started his carrier as College Lecturar at Postgraduate Deptt. Of Political Science, Rajindra Government Colleg3e, Bathinda (Punjab) in 1986, teaching Postgraduate classes on Political Thought and Diplomacy and later on at M.L.S.M. College, Sundernagar (Himachal Pradesh) as Lecturar & Head of Political Science Deptt. Soon he switched his carrier from teaching to business line. He has done his MBA in HRD and worked with higher middle and higher management for various medium and big organizations in Private / MNC sector in the field of administration, finance, Human resources and Management. Prominent among them is Direct-selling Company called Amway India Enterprises and a BPO Company called Teleperformance – USA. He was instrumental in developing software useful for all the departments in Teleperformance for easy flow of information among the departments without duplication, with minimum cost and less chances of errors. Presently he is working with Centre for Science & Technology for non-aligned and other Developing Countries, an Intergovernmental, UN like body based at New Delhi, and looking after Administration including traveling, HR, finance and protocol activities.
