Development of the Hill Areas

This book makes an in-depth study of complex relationship between the physical, economic and social structure of hill areas, with special reference to Pauri Garhwal district, Exploring the agricultural, horticultural, industrial and other potentialities of the region, it analyses the terms of growth promoting and growth retarding factors and the levels of development. The book further evaluates the nature and extent of the moneyorder flows as well as outmigration, and examines their impact on the socio-economic condition of the people. Finally, it works out a spatial development strategy for integrated development of the hill areas.
