This book seeks to address the important issues concerning children’s right to education. Taking a close look at the status of elementary education and child rights in India, African countries, Europe and the United States, it discusses at length the action research strategy for teacher educators in elementary education, effectiveness of in-service teacher education programme, stress and burnout among primary school teachers, and awareness of teachers towards child rights.
Also, it presents the experiences of eminent personalities from India and other countries regarding child rights and elementary education. Finally, it examines the supporting actors and structures needed for implementing norms of UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) in schools.
