ABOUT THE AUTHOR Naorem Joykumar Singh

Prof. Naorem Joykumar Singh (b. 1950) Prof. & Head, Dept. of History, Manipur University, Imphal is a seasoned teacher and a noted scholar. A prolific writer, he has authored two books namely –Social Movement in Manipur, and Colonialism to Demography: History of Manipur from 1819 to 1972. he has published many articles in reputed national and international journals. He is General Secretary of Manipur Historical Society, and Member of north East History Association. Currently, Pro. Singh is Director, Centre for Manipur Study and dean, school of Social Sciences, Manipur University, Imphal.
