ABOUT THE AUTHOR M. Katakkar

Dr. M. Katakkar, has held responsible posts in different industries and finally retired as Chief Executive Officer in 1980. The study of Palmistry and Numerology has been his hobby since 1942. His first article 'Biological Significance of Palmistry' appeared in 1946, which heralded the beginning of his glorious career. Followed by this was his prize winning paper on medical Palmistry. In 1972 at the 24th Annual Souvenir 'Palmistry in Relation to Psychiatry'. His research work and contribution of several articles on Palmistry gave him the unique position of a Medical Palmist.  He also had his brush in the form of a counter challenge, in 1985, with Dr. Abraham Kovoor, the famous Rationalist of Sri Lanka on the subject of numerology and influence of planets pn human life. On his tours to Europe, Canada and USA he has also been interviewed on television, on the nature and importance of palmistry on daily life. Dr. Katakkar has also been awarded several honours, amongst which, are Samudrik Tilak, Jyotish Mahamahopadhyaya, Daivagna Ratna, Jyotish Alankar and above all Doctor of Palmistry. Dr. Katakas Mahatma Gandhi, Rajgopalachari, Vallabhabhai Patel and Morarjibhai Desai, amongst others. He is acting as an Honourary Lecturer in Palmistry and Numerology in Bhalchandra Jyotir Vidhyalaya, Pune and recently he was also nominated as President of Numerology for the 'World Peace Conference' held at Delhi in January 1989 by the World Development Parliament. This encyclopaedic work is the outcome of his rich experience.
