The book ‘Entrepreneurship: Motivation, Performance and Rewards’ captures the entirety of the entrepreneurial experience right from the formation of a desire for and a perception of feasibility of pursuing a career in entrepreneurship. Besides examining a host of environmental factors impinging generally on the entrepreneurial activity, the book takes a close look also at the personal contingency variable, backgrounds and motivations that shape an individual’s decision for a plunge in the vortex of entrepreneurship. It also profiles the behavioural orientations of the Indian entrepreneurs in relation to the various aspects of new venture creation and its subsequent management. A salient feature of the book is that is provides insights on the reward perceptions of the entrepreneurs for creating and owning a business, in particular the psychic rewards, besides social and monetary rewards. Based on the field-work leading to a doctoral degree, this work is a worthy contribution to research in the area of entrepreneurship.
