The management of working capital is one of the most significant aspect in the firm’s overall financial management. If the firm fails to maintain a satisfactory level of working capital, it is likely to be insolvent and may even be forced into bankruptcy. In fact, working capital has become an imperative testimony for profitability of an entrepreneur. As such, management of working capital in an industrial unit is a double-edged sword. Thus, it focuses on the prime responsibility of a finance manager who strikes to an excellent balance between the conflicting objectives of liquidity and profitability.
