ABOUT THE AUTHOR L L Somani

Dr. L L Somani (b. 1945) did his graduation and Ph.D. from the University of Udaipur, Udaipur. He had all through a brilliant academic career and also holds Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism. He was awarded Post-Doctoral Commonwealth Fellowship (1975-77) to undertake research at Waite Agricultural Research Institute, Adelaide (Australia). He has also served the Gujarat Agricultural University. He is currently working as Professor at S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner. He has been honoured by the 'Dhiru Morarji Memorial Award' (1984) for agricultural Science by the Fertilizer Association of India. He has published over 200 papers and articles in national and international journals of repute. He is associated with several academic societies. Besides being the editor,  compiler of monumental Dictionary of Agricultural and Allied Sciences Series, Dr. Somani has published many other outstanding books.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Sarvesh Mathur

Dr. Sarvesh Mathur (Department of Aquaculture, College of Fisheries, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur) did her M.Sc. Zoology with specialization in Limnology and Fisheries in 1977 from the M.L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur and obtained her Ph.D. in 1982 on the study on Genus Lymnaea (Mollusca, Pulmonata) from the same University. Dr. Mathur joined the faculty of Agriculture of MPUAT in the Department of Limnology and Fisheries in 1988 and under took the task of organizing ornamental fish breeding, rearing and aquarium plant culture for specific target groups in Delhi, Faridabad and Udaipur. She has to her credit 15 research papers and 6 popular articles published in national and international journals. Her fields of interest are ornamental fish culture, Inland Aquaculture, Aquatic pollution and Limnology.
