ABOUT THE AUTHOR B.C. Vaidya

Balkrishan C. Vaidya (born at Sirasgaon, Dis. Wardha in Maharashtra) holds M.A. (Geography), M.A. (Sociology), M.Ed., M.Phil., Dip. T. English and Ph. D. He possesses brilliant academic carrier and has been awarded Robertson and Korea Darbar Gold Medals for his outstanding performance. Dr. Vaidya is actively engaged in research work of applied nature. His interest is in the field of transport, populations, tribal development, agricultural innovation and writing since his college days. He has contributed more than two dozen articles in scholarly reputed journals and is member of many academic societies. Dr. Vaidya is author or two books, namely, Agricultural Landuse in India, and Readings in Transport Geography-A Regional Perspective. He has successfully completed IRDP project on A study of Soil Types and Cropping Pattern in Yadhoda Basin. Dr. Vaidya is currently working on project entitled “Socio-economic Status of Tribal Population in Maharashtra-A Geographical Perspective”. He is presently working as Reader in the Department of Geography, University of Pune.
