This Commemoration volume is a befitting tribute to Prof. Ramanjam’s multidimensional erudition and varied interests. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Bir Bahadur

Prof. Bir Bahadur, M.Sc., Ph.D. has over 38 years of teaching experience served Osmania and Kakatiya Universities. He was Head Botany Department and Dean Faculty of Science. He has guided 29 Ph.Ds and published over 200 papers. He was awarded Best Teacher award by AP State Govt. and Professor V. Puri Gold Medal by Indian Botanical society. He was recipient of Royal Society Commonwealth Bursary, and worked at Birmingham University, U.K. and Institute of Genetics Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest. He is Fellow of several scientific bodies in India and abroad. He has taught Genetics & Biotechnology and Pollen biology and has edited 3 books.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR H. Ramakrishna

Dr. H. Ramakrishna, Lecturer in Botany, Osmania University, Hyderabad. He obtained Ph.D. in Palaeobotany – Palynology of Upper Gondwana deposits of Pranhita-Godavari basin, A.P. He has published several research papers on plant mega and microfossils. He is the Principal Investigator of a C.S.I.R. Project on Particulate organic D.S.T. project. He is a member of Palneobotanical Society.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR P. Ramachandra Reddy

Dr. P. Ramachandra Reddy, Reader in Botany, P.G. College of Science (O.U.), Saifabad, Hyderabad. He has obtained M.Sc., Ph.D. from Osmania University. He has published many Research papers on Palaeobotany and Palynology of the South Indian Tertiary deposits. He is Co0Investigator of various research schemes funded by U.G.C., C.S.I.R., D.S.T. and Forest Department, A.P.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Y.N.R. Varma

Dr. Y.N.R. Varma, Reader and Head Department of Botany. B.G. College of Science, Saifabad, Osmania University, Hyderabad. He has obtained Ph.D. from Osmaina University in Palaeopalynology. He is known for his work in Palynology of Lower Cretaceous of Palar basin, Tamil Nadu, Parnhitha – Godavari basin, Andhra Pradesh and Tertiary deposits of Kerala basin. Currently he is engaged in Melittopalynological studies of Medak in Andhra Pradesh. He is a life member for various botanical journals and councilor for Journal of Palynology. He has number of papers published in national and international journals and authored three books for under graduate students.
