Herbal technology: Recent trends and Progress is a comprehensive book on the various trends and the aspects of this recent branch of Botany. In the third section on Biopesticides, papers on Biocontrol agents, control of toxicogenic fungi by phytochemicals and antifungal activity of plant extracts are included. In the section on Biofertilizers papers on the utility of marine algae, blue green algae and Am fungi are included. In the last section, Biofuels, the utility of biogas as well as a number of new sources of fatty oils have been presented. This book will serve as a reference book for students, teachers and workers of Medicinal Plants, natural Dyes, Biopesticides, Biofertilisers and Biofuel. It will also of great use for NGOs and farmer who would be interested in value-addition of their trees, commercial manufactures of natural products and even to a layman interested in the multifarious utilities of plants around.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Arun Arya

Dr. Arun Arya got his basic training in Mycology and Plant Pathology from University of Allahabad under the guidance of Prof. Bihari Lal. He started his career as Lecturer in Microbiology in Gurukul Kangri University, Hardwar in 1985. Working at present as Reader in Botany, M.S. University of Baroda, Vadodara has a vast experience of teaching at graduate and post graduate levels. He has published 71 research papers dealing with Fungal taxonomy, physiology, pathology and biodeterioration. He is a popular science writer, and has also published a book on Tropical Fruits: Diseases and Pests. Recipient of Young Scientist award from DST, New Delhi. Dr. Arya has presented his findings at XV International Botanical Congress at Yokohama, Japan. He is Fellow of Indian Botanical Society and Indian Phyto-pathological Society.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Mammen Daniel

Prof. Mammen Daniel is presently the head, Department of Botany of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara. He obtained M.Sc. from Kerala University and Ph.D from M.S. University. An acclaimed authority on Phytochemistry and Herbal technology, he has authored Nine books and more than 120 research publications. His other areas of research interest are Taxonomy, Allelopathy and Phytoalexins.
