He was awarded Commonwealth Fellowship in 2005. His other works include Orientalism in Lord Byron’s Turkish Tales, Lewiston, USA; The Crescent and the Cross: Image of the Orient in English Literature, AMU, Aligarh, India and another Volume edited by him, Stranger than Fiction: Images of Islam and Muslims in English Fiction, APH, New Delhi. He has delivered lectures at the Universities of Oxford, Leicester, Sunderland and Mauritius and presented papers at International conferences on Romanticism and Lord Byron.
