The present study on the Hindu Astronomy grew out of the conviction about the sustained development of the twin disciplines of astronomy and mathematics since the beginning of Hindu civilization. ABOUT THE AUTHOR P.D. Sharma

P.D. Sharma was born in Gorakhpur but spent most of his youth overseas. He returned to India to do a University degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. He worked full times as a teacher in IIT before jumping the fence to become a renowned astronomer, a subject in which he had an inborn fascination. He has co-written many books, guidebooks and research papers making a major contribution on this subject.
