Efficiency of extension systems all over the world is judged by its capacity for technology delivery among clientele. The goal of technology transfer is to reach large number of people in shorter period of time. Improving the efficiency to extension system is an area where the innovations and initiatives are required to be taken to make it more productive and prompt. Modernizing technology transfer process needs to be perused vigorously. With the advent of computers entering into every sphere of educational activity including technology transfer needs to be focused on the effectiveness innovativeness and creativity.
The new technology environment in the information society is transforming the way knowledge is produced acquired experienced and transferred thereby triggering a cascading cycle of reinvention of information and its delivery mechanism.
In the changing scenario to meet the challenges the extension systems must organize themselves as a major technology costumer. For this extension workers have to be skilled in ICT. They will have to learn different aspects of ICT and also how to use ICT in their profession. Realizing the challenges of effective delivery of information and technology and need of integrating such innovations in transfer of technology this book having two components that is theoretical as well as practical aspects of ICT use in transfer of agricultural technologies is being published for the extension professionals faculty of agricultural universities and scientists of ICAR institutes to develop competence among them for easy jacketing of their own subject materials into ICT based packages sharing emerging concepts of ICT and and providing ICT design production and skills in use of ICT for transfer of technology to the professionals involved in TOT and extension. Ultimately this book will be helpful to foster the excellence in extension process.
Efforts have been made to cover all the important aspects of old as well as new ICT applications in transfer of agricultural technologies issues and strategies technology transfer role of ICT in transferring agricultural technologies applications of ICT in transfer of technology along with certain cases and also some exercises are given under the heading hands on experience for practice sessions giving step by step instructions for information sharing using e-mails working on flash overview animation and multimedia input/output devices.

Dr. Amardeep Asstt. Professor, Department of Agricultural Communication of G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar (Uttaranchal) the editor of this manuscript is specialized in educational technology and ICT. Presently he is also working as editor of monthly farm magazine of national repute i.e. Kisan Bharti in Hindi being published from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. He has been associated in organizing various training programmes and seminars in the university. Dr. Amardeep has produced 10 educational video modules for teaching and training. He is also producing and directing monthly video magazine of the university i.e. Pantnagar Parikrima. He has also worked as paper reviewer in several international conferences organized in European countries. Dr. Amardeep is also working as member of Technical Committee on Education of International Association of Science and Technology for Development, Switzerland/Canada. He has been offered to work as Chairman of several sessions in International conferences organized in different parts of the world. So far, he has more than 150 publications, including international one, to his credit.

Dr. B.B. Singh, Professor and Head, Department of Agricultural Communication of G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar (Uttaranchal), the editor of this manuscript has long professional experience of more than 30 years in the field of agricultural communication and extension. He is specialized in different positions of challenges and responsibilities. Presently he is also working as Joint Director, Communication in the university. He is also the Chief Editor of two monthly farm magazines of national repute i.e. Kisan Bharti in Hindi and Indian Farmers Digest in English being published from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. He has been the organizer of various training programmes and seminars. As teachers he has taught more than 15 courses to undergraduate, post graduate and Ph.D. Classes. So far, 9 Ph.D. and 11 M.Sc. Students have completed their degrees under his wise and intelligent supervision. As a researcher, he has handled 2 outside funded research projects under different capacity. He has been trained in USA and Philippines. Dr. Singh is associated with several professional bodies and societies. So far, he has more than 50 publications to his credit.
