It has been our sincere endeavor to incorporate your valuable suggestions into making this edition of OSH, A Comprehensive and handy source of reference.The OSH attempts to capture this often turbulent, yet promising period through a series of information modules in the form of simple, easy to read tables. Every effort has been made to incorporate the achievements and challenges of the economy and its various sectors. Two new sections, health Care and electoral Statistics have been included in view of the current concern for Health Services in the country and the impending General Elections in 2004. A comprehensive review has been carried out for the current edition but without, in any way, compromising the basic philosophy of the OSH: to present authentic and comprehensive data on India’s Economy and its neighbors.
