Indian Dalit Literature: Critical Ruminations is a voluminous collection of twenty-nine scholarly articles written on the diverse aspects of caste hierarchy portrayed in Indian Dalit Literature. The articles included in this book touch a wide spectrum of themes like caste-discrimination, exploitation, suppression, pains, pathos, tyrannies, atrocities, indignities, gender-violence, colonization, sufferings of subalterns, marginalization, identity, Dalit consciousness etc. which are the central issues and concerns of authors of Dalit texts. The book is a dominant critical voice for socially ostracized Dalit people. The erudition of the contributors has successfully initiated a new critical discourse on the horizon of existing Dalit Literature through their well-analysed research articles. Despite the brutal repression often meted out to Dalits, they attempt to overcome the oppressions, injustices and tyrannies with an undercurrent of hope that someday they may gain socio-economical equality hitherto denied. About the Author: Bijender Singh is a Lecturer (English) in Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Hatt, (Jind), Haryana. He has done his M.A. and M. Phil and he has qualified UGC-NET, SET and HTET for lectureship. He has done Sanskrit Honours (Shastri), Art & Crafts Teacher Course and Multi-purpose Health Worker (Male) Course. He has written a few essays, some short-stories and a number of Hindi poems.
