Indian English Poetry, now-a-days, has got its own identity and stature away from its early image of being derivative and imitative, as an offshoot of British Literature. It is much different from its western counter part in theme, language, writing style, imagery and so on. Every poet has source of inspiration on influence and it is this source which makes Indian English Poetry 'Indian'. This anthology provides spectrum of Indian English Poets who may be cited exquisite in their sensibility and approach. These poets are very much influenced by the Indian culture, customs, traditions and contemporary reality. They write not only for an Indian audience, but also for non-Indian audiences, for, to them, the feature of Indianness makes it exotic and gives a deep feeling and experience or real India. The critical analyses of the poets' work provide enough guidance to a reader or researcher interested in studying any of these poets.
