Indian Public Management: Case Studies for Good Governance

The case studies from Indian public administration present situations that provide real life scenarios by which students and practitioners can learn and get trained. The volume comes in an attempt to enable prospective public managers in the Civil Services to have exposure to life situations in order to acquaint them with public administration in action. It takes up cases like those of barring bar dancers, police firing at crowds, tackling commercial encroachment, hostage release and negotiations as at Kandahar (1999) and implementation of legislation reserving certain administrative positions for the Scheduled Castes for a detailed study.
