This book is the most contemporary and comprehensive work on a very controversial proposed project: Tata Steel at Gopalpur. It has used a wide database to study the economic impact of displacement especially in the face of the fact that the project did not come up over a period of 11 years, which makes it a unique case in India. It is based on a Ph.D. thesis undertaken by the author.
