The management of plant diseases is an integral part of agro-ecosystem management and intimately related to the health and vigour of the plants. In agricultural countries like India, it has special relevance, where much still needs to be done in the modernization of control measures against plant diseases. ABOUT THE AUTHOR B.B.S. Kapoor
Dr. B.B.S. Kapoor did his M.Sc. in Botany in 1977 and Ph.D. in 1992 from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He joined college education in 1977 as a lecturer and at present, he is working as a Associate Professor in P.G. Department of Botany, Govt. Dungar College, Bikaner. He is actively engated in research especially on Ecology of Rajasthan Desert and Medicinjal plants of this region. At present he is working as Principal Investigator in a major research project on Medicinal Plants of Rajasthan Desert sponsored by Medicinal Plants Board, New Delhi. He has published a number of research papers and articles in reputed scientific journals, magazines & books, conducted several research projects and has been supervising M.Phil and Ph.D. scholars. He has nine books to his credit. He is environmental thinker, educator & campaigner and is often invited by schools, Govt. and non-govt. institutions and organizations to deliver lectures on burning environmental issues. He is on the panel of All India Radio, Bikaner as an expert on environment. He has participated in a number of national and international seminars, conferences & workshops. He has honoured with several awards in the field of popularization of science and research on medicinal plants. At present, a series of publications by him on cultivation of medicinal plants and their utility in “Rajasthan Patrikaâ€, Satat Vartaâ€, “Krishi Mangal†and “Isheer Samachar Patrika†are very popular.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR N.K. Khatri
Dr. N.K. Khatri did his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Plant Pathology in Faculty of Agriculture from People’s Friendship University, Moscow (Russia) in 1981 and 1984 respectively. At present he is working as Associate Professor in AICRP on Arid Legumes at Agricultural Research Station, RAU, Bikaner as well as engaged in teaching and guiding P.G. students in College of Agriculture, Bikaner. He has already published a book entitled “Fundamentals of Plant Pathology†with Dr. V.N. Pathak, a renowned Professor of Plant Pathology. He has published several research papers & articles in reputed journals & magazines. He has participated in many national & international seminars, workshops etc.
