ABOUT THE AUTHOR Julie Friedeberger

Julie Friedeberger has practised yoga for over 30 years, and has been teaching and training yoga teachers since 1987.  She holds the British Wheel of Yoga Teacher' Diploma and the Teaching and Teacher Training diplomas of the Dharma Yoga Centre.  She has always had a deep interest in the practical application of yoga to daily life, and office Yoga was the culmination of the many years, she spent working at a desk, in book publishing.  Julie has taught yoga to older people, and people with mental health problems.  The simple breathing, meditation and relaxation, techniques of yoga contributed greatly to her own recovery and healing from breast cancer a few years ago, and she says: 'The experience left me with a deeper trust in the power of yoga to help us through life and a stronger commitment to passing on what I know of yoga to others.'  She lives in London with her husband, the painter Klaus Friedeberger, and teaches people with cancer.  She also gives workshops and training days on the theme of yoga as a source of inner strength and healing in times of crisis.  Her another book is A Visible Wound: A Healing Journey through Breast Cancer.
