ABOUT THE AUTHOR Homeswar Goswami

Dr. Homeswar Goswami (b.1943) is a Reader in the Post-Graduate Department of Economics, Dibrugarh University, Assam. He has seventeen years of experience in teaching at the Post-Graduate level. Dr. Goswami has specialized in population and Demography and has been supervising the doctoral works of research scholars in the said field. Dr. Goswami visited Italy and was with the institute for the Study of Population (JASP). His contributions have appeared in several learned journals. Besides, Dr. Goswami is also the author of two books on the Economics of Planning and Development with emphasis on the North-Eastern region of India.
