This book deals with culture and lifestyle of the Santhal which is one of the major tribal groups in the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Nita Mathur

Nita Mathur is an anthropoligist with doctorate from the University of Delhi. Currently on the faculty of the Indira Gandhi Ntional Centre for the Arts, she is preparing a thesaurus of Santhal words for body and seed. Her research interests range from arts in lifestyles to emotions across cultures and indigenous visioin. Apart from contributing articles in journals and books, she has edited, Santhal Worldview.
