ABOUT THE AUTHOR Chitralekha Singh

Dr. (Mrs.) Chitralekha Singh (born 1945) is an artist, art-educationist and has the rare distinction of being the first India lady to be awarded D. Litt in drawing and painting. She has a brilliant academic career, M.A. in drawing and painting, specialization in advanced composition, Ph.D (1974) and D. Litt (1984). An active participant in National exhibitions, art workshops, seminars and faculty activities, she is a prolific writer, contributed 20 research papers and published two books: ‘Chini Chitrakala’ and a classic two volume set ‘Paintings of Siva in Indian Art’. She is the sub-editor of Art Journal ‘TRIA’. She was selected as a research associate by University Grants Commission and represented India under Indo-Italian Cultural Programme (1988). She undertakes research work continuously and is a research guide in many universities. Twelve scholars have been awarded Ph.D under her guidance.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Prem Nath

Dr. Prem Nath obtained his Ph.D. degree in Horticulture from the Kansas State University, Manhattan, USA during 1962. Since them, Dr. Nath has been serving in different national and international instiutions, in different capacities and in different countries in food and agriculture sectro for 50 yrars.
