The Rgveda is the oldest book that is available to the mankind. It is one of the most revered scriptures too. As a holy book it has ever been studied, but to rummage it for scientific facts, is not so common, the author is among the few writers attempting it. The author, of course, has depended on the Nirukt, and the explanations of the Rcas as made by Swami Dayanand, besides putting his own views here and there. Only such fields of science, have been explored, where substantial amount of material, is available – others have been ignored.
Of course, the Rcas, allow different sorts of interpretations, reference to the same has been given in some cases, but mainly the author has confined himself to the temporal sense rather than to the spiritual one-as, in general, has been the case.
An attempt has been made to explain the quoted Rcas word for word to make the meaning clear even to those who can't have an access to the original script, or are not so well-versed in the Vedic Sanskrit–the main motive in writing this book was to acquaint the maximum possible number of people with the fact as to how much the Aryans had advanced in science even in so remote a past, it would generate a sense of pride among the compatriots as well as enable millions of such foreign readers to know about the glorious past of Bharat, who need English as medium of communication.
