Population education is an educational programme which provides for a study of the population situation in family, community, nation and the world with the purpose of developing rational and responsible attitudes and behaviours towards that situation. It is an educational programme that provides for the study of population phenomenon in order to make the students take feasible decisions towards problems arising out of population explosion. The population education needs to be imparted in classrooms effectively by the teachers with adequate awareness about population education. Identifying the very role of teachers in population education, a study has been undertaken to study the awareness of school teachers about population education. The school teachers are holding high awareness about population education. The men and women teachers, rural and urban teachers, and government and private school teachers are possessing high awareness about population education without any difference between them. The school teachers should bring in students an adequate awareness about population education and make them settle well in future with small families. This will help the community progress ahead with all amenities.
