Technology, Environment and Human Values

This collection of 22 papers, most of these presented at a national seminar on "Human Values and Technological Progress, held at H.B.T.I, Kanpur, highlights some important scientific and technological developments, and examines their impact on human values and welfare. The uniqueness of this book is that a metaphysical perception is attributed to sustainable development and socio-economic welfare of the human. All essays in this book are classified under four broad sections. Section I is "Technological progress and quality of life", section II "Harmony between materialism and spiritualism through an appropriate technological revolution," section III "Human values and environment", and section IV is "Impact of information and computer technology on human values". This book will be highly useful for all sections of readers and researchers.
